Douglas McVey

Senior Automation Design Engineer

As senior automation design engineer, Doug has primary responsibility for designing custom automation solutions for customers.

Prior to co-founding kDy, Doug was a Product Engineer in the Power Products group at Cree, Inc. Previously, he was a Process Development Engineer for the Laser Diode and Bulk Gallium Nitride group at Cree, Inc. He also held the same position in the Bulk Gallium Nitride group at ATMI, Inc. in Danbury, Connecticut before that group’s acquisition by Cree. In these roles, Doug designed numerous equipment, hardware, and software solutions. He brings that cross-functional experience and expertise to his role as automation designer.

Before beginning his career as a professional technologist, Doug spent two years teaching high school biology, chemistry, and physics in the public school system in Western Massachusetts.


Allan Salant

Business Development Manager

As business development manager, Allan seeks out business opportunities where customers can leverage kDy’s experience and innovation to achieve superior process and business results. Allan is also instrumental in maintaining relationships with vendors that supply kDy the products it needs to maximize customers’ returns on their investments. Last, but not least, Allan is a key project planner and engineering collaborator whose considerable technical and management skills allow kDy to complete its projects on time, under budget, and in excess of customers’ expectations.

Prior to co-founding kDy, Allan was a Senior Engineering Manager in the Power Products group at Cree Inc. Before that position, Allan served as the Manager of Process Development Engineering for Cree’s Laser Diode and Bulk Gallium Nitride Group. Allan previously held a variety of management and engineering positions at ATMI Inc., a supplier of front-end materials to the semiconductor industry. Allan has over 10 years of experience in process engineering, process automation, operations management and project management.
